Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is, by definition, a global competition. Municipalities try to make a mark in a marketplace where companies can locate almost anywhere. Regionalization therefore suggests a way of bringing an area’s greater benefits to the table and also a critical mass to its ability to reach out to these companies. In our talk we intend to explore both the benefits to the approach and why many municipalities fear losing the ability to make their own individual case.
